Full on Misfit
Nose: Floral, lime, yellow fruits , minerals, Kelp. On the mouth there is an intense sensation of saltiness with hints of lime and grapefruit coming through.
The 2023 Full on Misfit white blend is a wine from 4 different vineyards, located beteween 15 and 25 kilometres from the cold Atlantic ocean, stretching from Vredendal to Koekenaap on the West Coast of South Africa.
Grapes were picked early in the morning to preserve freshness, then cooled down before being crushed the next morning.
This year it is made up of 4 different varietals, 70% Chenin blanc, 20% Palomino, 6% Colombar and 4% Assyrtiko.
All the grapes were picked and whole bunch pressed separately before being spontaniously fermented in Stainless steel and 500 liter barrels for a minimum of a month. After fermentation the wines are aged separately in 500 liter barrels for 7 months, then blended and left to age for another 3 months before being bottled.
Bottled with the addition of a little sulphur, unfined and unfiltered.

These Vineyards were planted between 1962 and 2022 on Sandstone and silt soils between 15 and 25 kilometres from the Atlantic ocean.
